Worming the starhole: a beginner’s guide

Earthworms are fantastic creatures.

Every earthworm has 9 hearts, for a start.  But this is not my point.

I’m going to throw a metaphor, and see if it stays on a stable orbit: bear with me.

The best thing about Earthworms is that they convert large pieces of crap like dead leaves into rich, nutricious humus (that’s the organic stuff in soil, not the chick-pea hors d’œuvre).

That’s a pretty nifty summary of the way Judi works.  In these post-modern times, there’s an excess of dead leaves, and we’re sliding around under the playing fields and back yards of popular culture: swallowing, digesting, and shitting out new, useful materials.  There’s not a lot of brain in us, we operate on blind instinct, a limitless supply of mucus and a great sense of smell.

This is an appropriate time to plug our new monthly event in Atlanta: Worming the Starhole.  In close collaboration with the rhythmic battalion that is Noot D’ Noot, we’re sowing the seeds of something new, something fresh, and something FERTILE.

Atlanta can be a challenge for bands that are ploughing their own creative furrow, but when Judi D’ Noot worms the starhole, we create a cosmic compost…  We’re chewing a hole through the fabric of space and time and we’re sliding through it.  We hope to come back to Earth with our diapers filled with fluorescent ass-trological funky doo-doo.

This monthly event / party / dancehall sacrament will be something different, something strange and something entirely fun.  Treat yourself.  You’re the Right Stuff, Baby.
